Vice Chairman

Mr. Said Sharif is the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan. He graduated from the Tajik State University and Lvov Cooperative Institute in economics. In 1999, he attended the courses of economic transformation in market economy conducted for the authorities of the Republic of Tajikistan in Virginia, USA.

 

Mr. Sharif started working in 1971 and held different posts in the Farhor region. In 1977, he worked in Kurgan-Tube as a director of the official body in charge of procurement of the regional consumption union. In 1986, he was the Deputy Chairman of Kurgan-Tube and Khatlon regional consumption union. In 1989, he was elected Chairman of the largest consumers` Union of the Republic - Bohtar region of Khatlon area. From 1993 to 1996 he was the First Deputy Chairman of "Tajikpotrebsouz" Board, and in September 1996 he was the plenipotentiary representative of Hukumat of the Dushanbe City in the City Administration and the Government of Moscow, Russian Federation.

 

In October 2003, Mr. Sharif was elected Chairman at the 4th Congress of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan, attending the international assemblies, forums under the UNESCO auspices, and the conferences of World and Islamic Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Since 1993 he has been a member of Interstate and Governmental Commission of the Republic of Tajikistan. He was one of the participants in signing the Inter-Tajik Peace Agreement in 1997 in Moscow.

 

In honor of the 10th anniversary of the Sovereignty Day of the Republic of Tajikistan, on the initiative of Mr. Sharif and with his personal participation, an Agreement on Commercial and Economic, Scientific and Technical, and Humane and Cultural Cooperation between the Government of Moscow and the Hukumat of Dushanbe was signed.  

 

He has been granted government awards for labor services, including the "Sharaf" ("Glory") Order and Gold Medal of Peace and Harmony Federation.

Vice Chairman

Mr. Alexander N. Shokhin is the President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

 

From 1974 to 1987 Mr. Shokhin worked with several research institutions associated with the USSR Academy of Sciences, the USSR State Planning Committee and the USSR State Labor Committee. From 1987-1991 Mr. Shokhin was Economic Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Head of the Department of International Economic Relations of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Twice, in 1991-1994 and in 1998, he held the post of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. In 1991-1994 he also held positions of Minister of Labor, Minister of Economics, Chairman of the Russian Agency for International Cooperation and Development, and Russian governor at the IMF and the World Bank.

 

Mr. Shokhin represented the President of the Russian Federation in Russia's relations with the G7 countries. From 1994 to 2002 he was a Deputy of the State Duma, where he occupied the posts of First Vice Chairman of the State Duma, leader of the Duma party bloc 'Our Home is Russia', and Head of the Duma Committee on Credit Institutions and Capital Markets. From 2002 to 2005 Mr. Shokhin was Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Investment Group "Renaissance Capital". He became a member of the Russian Federation Public Chamber and the Chairman of its Commission for Competitiveness, Economic Development, and Entrepreneurship Issues in 2005. In 2007, he became a permanent member of the Russian-French Council on Economic, Financial, Industrial, and Trade Matters. In 2008, he was the Chairman of the Coordinating Council of Employers’ Unions of Russia, the employers’ coordinator with the Russian Tripartite Commission on Regulations of Social, and Labor Relations and ‘United Russia’ Supreme Council’s Commissions on Industry and Entrepreneurship. He also served as President of the Russia-US Council on Business Cooperation in 2009.

 

Mr. Shokhin is a member of several deliberative bodies under the Russian President and Government, including the Presidential Council for Priority National Projects and Demographic Policies, the Russian Government Council on Competitiveness and Entrepreneurship, the Governmental Commission on Industry, Transport and Technology, the Governmental Commission on Administrative Reform, and the Advisory Council on Foreign Investments. He is also Chairman of the National Association of Regional Agencies for Investments and Development of the South Federal District. Mr. Shokhin is an Independent Board member of OAO ‘RZhD’ (‘Russian Railways’), President of the State University – Higher School of Economics, and President of the International Cooperation and Investment Council.

 

Mr. Shokhin has been awarded the Order of Merit for Country of the IV Degree. He is also a Companion of Honour, and a holder of other honorary distinctions including the Order of St. Blessed Prince Daniel of Moscow of the II Degree, the Order of St. Blessed Peter and Fevronia of Murom of the I Degree, the Diamond Order of Public Esteem, the National Security Medal from Russian Security Council, and the Contribution to International Cooperation Decoration from Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
